Being a devotee of quality I used to hate ending any note with the two words mentioned in subject above. More than two sincere years of Government Service and consequent health related problems have turned me into an atheist.

2.            It was okay when I was allotted the maximum workload. It was good to be the fire brigade of the Section. It was, ummmm, kind of a compliment. I managed when I was directed to attend Election related meeting, in spite of my (bad) health. Again, a compliment.

3.            Everything said and done. But those virtues of mine – team work, sincerity, etc – proved to be vices for me. And when “barely born” ADRs are now managing perpetual leave for examinations of regular courses, I am cursing myself for dropping my first year of LL.B. evening classes, for which I was granted permission from office.

4.            Coming back to the topic, “submitted please”. I realized it very late nobody is concerned about equal distribution of work. Take this – 160 employees with all service matters, except leave, LTC and medical. Plus fire brigade job. Now take this – 90 employees with equal service matters, 60 employees with equal service matter. The “barely borns” were handling – whatever data entry operators/ LDCs were also handling. Idiotic reasons, corporate jargons / sentences only infuriated me. Result- BP level shooting up, diabetes.

5.            So why should I be bothered for quality? If showing numbers is  all what matters, then let it be. I am not a prophet of quality. Shall not bother anymore. Shall not get bothered anymore. If Government service is all about passing the buck and saving the job, then let it be.

Hey ADRs

how u doing?
i have been posted in National Commission for Scheduled Castes, Lok Nayak Bhawan, Khan Market.
My section consists of having complaints from petitioner and analysing it.
what aboiut all of u?

OJT & ADR

It arrived and before I could wink, it is going to be gone. Only a few hours left for my OJT. The experience was vital in the sense that I have learnt that we cannot learn anything regarding rules / laws and their applications in five days. Learning curve, nevertheless, in these five days has been of a unique nature. Realising how the things work in ministries and how much respect does an ADR gets is so very fascinating. No matter what some people may say, the fact is that a person who works does earn respect. And it is usually the people who want achievement of success to be easier than eating a lollipop. For those who are willing to put their brains in the papers, the place is so very good. I do recommend the job of an ADR as an optimum one.

For the rest, lots more to come.

First Note

"Nothing & drafting skills are bread and butter to Assistants."
We have been told this dozens of times since we joined ISTM. Naturally, I was keen in trying my hands at the 'skills'.
On the second day of OJT (at DoPT), I got the opportunity when I was asked to prepare a note for a file. My initial impression was that it was only a practice session for me. But when the print out of my note was attached to the file and I signed on it, Good Heavens.
The S.O. appreciated.

I am liking it. Hope to get such a seat when get final posting. Hope all having a gala time.
